The British White Cattle breed of today is a result of selective breeding for purity. British White Cattle possess characteristics and qualities that set them apart from other breeds of beef cattle. In the past they may have been known as a status symbol in medieval Britain but are now a mainstream beef cattle breed.

In today's market the British White Cattle are being selected for a high quality beef breed due to their excellent feed to weight ratio and superior carcass and meat producing ability. They have always been known for their quality meat producing ability and excellent milking trait.

British White cattle possess many traits that make them profitable and an ideal choice for large and small cattle producers. They are white with black ears, black muzzle, black around the eyes and black hooves. They have high incidence of passing on their true color. Excellent meat is produced by British White cattle. There is very little interior fat within the product but it is adequately marbled. You will find the meat to be very tender and tasty. The hanging carcass of British White cattle is normally expected to be in the 60% range or a little more. They are a high dressing and quality grading animal.

You will find British White Cattle are trouble free, efficient and easy keeping. They seem to have a natural resistance to many diseases and parasites. Much of this may be attributable to their dark pigment and black points. While their white color makes them very heat tolerant it also grows long for winter protection in cold climates.

British White Cattle are known for their longevity. It is not at all unusual for a British White Cow to still be breeding back every 12 months when she is 20 years old. Longevity is one of the most important contributing factors in the profitability of any cow herd.

Why not try a British White bull if you are running a commercial crossbred herd. When bred to a British White bull cows will have an easy time calving and produce calves that hit the ground growing. You will be really pleased with your calf crop.
